UPDATE: AdSense Account Reinstated
89UPDATE 3/2/2011
**Update**Just want everyone to know that I got an email from AdSense today and they say that upon further review they are reversing their decision and reinstating my account. SO, I guess maybe they finally saw I did not do anything wrong. I am very grateful and relieved for this... yet a bit shook up still that it even happened.. I guess they weren't quite as horrible as I thought- though I still feel what happened was wrong. Anyway, just want everyone to know (that have read this hub and for all who commented) that they did actually reverse their decision and reinstate my account. I really hope this was a freak thing that happened to me and doesn't happen often to other people. Who knows?
Here is what happened:
I signed up for Adsense a few months ago when I first started writing on HubPages. It wasn't the main reason I joined but Adsense quickly became a huge motivator for me after I checked my earnings and they were actually adding up. Though it was slow earnings, I was okay with that. It really motivated me to continue with my writing and really started to pay attention to my hubs making sure that they were in proper format and all that stuff. I wrote mainly about stuff that I was interested in but what I felt like others would be interested in as well, like arts and craft tutorials, link to tutorials etc. I put A LOT of energy into it almost every single day. So, the other day I checked my email and all of the sudden I get this email:
Subject : Google Adsense Account Disabled
After reviewing our records, we've determined that your AdSense account
poses a risk of generating invalid activity. Because we have a
responsibility to protect our AdWords advertisers from inflated costs due
to invalid activity, we've found it necessary to disable your AdSense
account. Your outstanding balance and Google's share of the revenue will
both be fully refunded back to the affected advertisers.
Please understand that we need to take such steps to maintain the
effectiveness of Google's advertising system, particularly the
advertiser-publisher relationship. We understand the inconvenience that
this may cause you, and we thank you in advance for your understanding and
cooperation.
If you have any questions or concerns about the actions we've taken, how
you can appeal this decision, or invalid activity in general, you can find
more information by visiting

Sincerely,
The Google AdSense Team
I have done a MAJOR edit to this hub because the original was filled with a lot of disappointment and anger at adsense because I thought they had wrongfully closed my account. Since they have now reinstated it, I am not sure what to do now... as I still feel strongly that what happened was wrong. I never wanted to discourage anyone from being affiliated with adsense but I did want to make other serious writers aware of what had happened to me.
What I can do is share my experience and that is that on 2/14/2011 I got an email that my account was disabled for invalid click activity (email above) I felt the reason was vague and they would not expand on the reason for terminating my account. I then appealed and the appeal was denied BUT I have received an email on 3/2/2001 stating that they have reversed their decision and are in fact reinstating my account. As I stated in this hub (before the edit) I was very angry and hurt over this and now, since this has happened, it leaves me confused, wondering why all this happened in the first place.
So for whatever reason (still don't know) my account was posing a risk for invalid click activity so they disabled it. Maybe disabling doesn't necessarily mean closing for good? Anyway, they disabled it and then re-reviewed the records and made the decision (a few weeks later) it didn't pose a risk for invalid click activity so they have now reinstated it? From what I've read about invalid click activity there is pretty much nothing I could have done to prevent it and there's no way anyone could have come in and logged into my account and clicked on my ads unless a someone broke into my house, logged onto my account and clicked on the ads. It's a big question mark but I sure hope it doesn't happen again.
If nothing else this has made me more aware of needing to pay attention to all the details like eCPM and things like that and also I plan to start paying more attention to other details of my account besides just the earnings. I just sure do hope that this doesn't happen again to me or anyone else. This whole thing has been really stressful but what I can say for adsense is they did the right thing and reinstated my account.

jamiebrock, congrats on having your Adsense a/c reinstated. My a/c has been diasapproved twice probably because I am from a country for which google has put a 6 months active account condition. I am still waiting for the period to get over. In the meantime I ame writing regularly and try to follow all conditions of compliance to Google's terms. I hope I get the approval soon.
Your hub is a morale booster to those whose accounts are on hold.
Voted up and useful.
This is really a great hub. Last month, one of my friend kept on asking me about this when his adsense account was disabled but I couldn't answer him. I hope your hub and google adsense support answers would help him out.
That's great! Thought, i have yet to get my adsense account approved.
Hi Jamie. Thanks for the information, I just recently got my adsense approved after been trying for 2 months due to unknown reason (www.mycashcabinet.com). I'll take note on the above information and appreciate it.
My application to AdSense has been disapproved and I do not know how to get it approved. Please guide me as to how I should go about it.
This is my first comment to any website.

Hello Jamie, I read all your hubs about ad sense account reinstating experience. I am glad that you get your account back. Hope it gets better in the future.
I need your help Jamie, my ad sense account has been deleted for no reason, and the state that my account posed significant risk to their adwords advertisers. I have no idea what kind of reason is that? Why they disabled my account only because of an idea that I could be a risk for them? It is unfair.
As you have gotten your ad sense account back, please tell me something about writing a good appeal that could be noticed? Because I have learned that the chances of getting reinstated are very less.
Please contact me somehow, your help will be highly appreciated. I feel terrible about this, I work for another ad sense revenue sharing website as well named webanswers.com and I am .
Thank you.
@cblack and @jamie: After my Google Adsense account has been banned, I can no longer use the HP Ad Program, which means that I am no longer earning on HubPages.:( HP Ad Program requires an account in Google Adsense.
I am scared of the same thing. What if I write 500 hubs and the Adsense drops me? At least we have the Hubpages ad program now as a backup!
Thanks Jamie. I will keep you posted.:)
